Music Center the Netherlands welcomes you to its website.  Here we offer news and background information about our organization and its departments, products, projects and promotional activities – nationally and internationally.

Music Center the Netherlands (MCN) was formed in 2008 by merging Donemus, Gaudeamus, De Kamervraag, the Dutch Pop & Rock Institute, Dutch Jazz Connection, Netherlands Jazz Archive and De Jazzorganisatie.

Gaudeamus Music Week

Each year in the first week of September, the contemporary department at  MCN presents a cross section of the latest developments in the global village of contemporary music at this world renowned festival. The major event of the Gaudeamus Music Week is the competition for young composers. Program>> 

Toonzetters 2010

In the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, the best new music of 2009 was presented during the two-day festival Toonzetters, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 August.

Sound as Matter

In honor of the 25th anniversary of sound artist Hans van Koolwijk, Music Center the Netherlands (MCN) presents the special exhibition ‘Sound as Matter’ in Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. Including his latest work ‘The Klankkaatser' (Sound-Reverberator). Videos and information about the exhibition>>
