The Classical department is dedicated to the national and international promotion of classical music performed by soloists, orchestras and ensembles in the Netherlands.

The department focuses on bringing together supply and demand in classical music. Its responsibilities are a.o. the annual Dag van de Klassieke Muziek (Classical Music Day), the biennial Dutch Chamber Music Meeting, the Showcase Early Music.
