The controversial composer Henk Badings has very significant and diverse oeuvre.  Next to the enormous quantity of works he composed for traditional instruments, he was also a pioneer in Dutch electronic music. But this last aspect of his work has up to this point in time received little attention. 

With the cd-box POPULAR ELECTRONICS (Basta Music 3091 412) his very first compositions Kaïn and Abel (1956), Variations Electroniques (1957) and Evolutionen (1958) were released. The double-cd MORE ELECTRONIC MUSIC BY HENK BADINGS makes his most important other electronic compositions now accessible. This coproduction of Music Center the Netherlands and Basta Music contains unique material, originating from the original sound tapes; a large portion of the compositions has never appeared earlier on record.
