Contemporary
General
The MCN Contemporary department promotes Dutch contemporary music; compositions and musicians and ensembles, nationally and internationally. Highly reputed festival presentations are initiated and coordinated worldwide.
Long established events in the Netherlands:
- Gaudeamus Music Week with its composition competition for young composers (next edition September 2010)
- Gaudeamus Interpreters Competition, a competition for young musicians (next edition 2011).
Co-productions include:
- International Young Composers Meeting in Apeldoorn
- French-Dutch Composition Competition
- Dutch Music Days, in co-operation with NPS Radio 4 and Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
- Toonzetters, (August), in co-operation with the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and Buma Cultuur.
