Anne La Berge steps in as jury member

31 August 2009

Unfortunately Julia Wolfe will be unable to attend the Gaudeamus Music Week 2009 and serve as a jury member.

Together with Huba de Graaff and Akira Nishimura, Wolfe nominated earlier this year 15 compositions for the Gaudeamus Prize. These works are at the center of attention or the Music Week taking place from 7 to 12 September in Amsterdam.

Anne La Berge takes over Julia Wolfe's role and will decide with the other jury members who the winner is of the Gaudeamus Prize 2009.

Anne La Berge's career as flutist/improviser/composer stretches across international and stylistic boundaries.  Many of her compositions involve her own participation, though she has produced works intended solely for other performers, usually involving combinations of acoustic instruments, electronic instruments, computers, and real-time interactive performance systems. In addition to creating her own work she regulary performs in other artists’  projects in a range of settings from modern chamber music to improvised electronic music.
