Toonzetters announces Ten Best Works

A professional jury of international festival programmers has made the selection for Toonzetters 2010. The best work of 2009 will be awarded this August with the Buma Toonzetters Prize which includes € 10,000.
A large number of works premiered in 2009 were submitted and the following compositions have been nominated:
- Spaces of Blank – Michel van der Aa
- Verdichtingen – Michel van der Aa
- Nr. 44 (Diary Pieces) – Richard Ayres
- Koranfragment – Wilbert Bulsink
- La vida breve (The brief life) – Ezequiel Menalled
- JungGa – Seung-Ah
- Oh White Eagle – Martijn Padding
- Kringen – Bart Spaan
- Preludio all’Infinito – Diderik Wagenaar
- Viaggio Interiore (Awakenings of Alice) – Aliona Yurtsevich
During the festival Toonzetters 2010 these ten best new compositions from 2009 will be presented. Toonzetters takes place on August 28 & 29 in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ in Amsterdam
Members of the jury this year are:
- Lucas Vis (dirigent, juryvoorzitter)
- Mark Delaere (Transit, Leuven, België)
- David Pay (Music on Main, Vancouver, Canada)
- Rainer Pöllmann (Ultraschall, Berlijn, Duitsland)
- Massimo Simonini (Angelica Festival, Bologna, Italië)
Toonzetters is organised by Buma Cultuur, Music Center the Netherlands and the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
