Buma Composers and SENA Performers Prize at Toonzetters

Come and listen to the best new Netherlands music composed in 2009 performed by the ensembles who brought them in premiere.

Festival Toonzetters, Saterday 28 and Sunday 29 of Augustus in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ with at the end the awarding of the Buma Composers Toonzetters Prize for composers and the SENA Performers Toonzetters Prize.

In three categories a composer is nominated for the Toonzetters Prize €10.000

1. Category up to 5 performers: Aliona Yurtsevich – Viaggio Interiore [Awakening of Alice]
2. Category ensemble works: Seung-Ah Oh – JungGa
3. Category orchestra or chamber orchestra works: Wilbert Bulsink – Koranfragment

Besides the works above mentioned also works are performed by Michel van der Aa, Peter Adriaansz, Richard Ayres, Ezequiel Menalled, Martijn Padding, Bart Spaan en Diderik Wagenaar.

SENA Performers Toonzetters Prize (€10.000) for a musician, ensemble or orchestra that premiered the nominated works as mentioned above. The this years nominees are Nieuw Ensemble, het Symfonieorkest van het Conservatorium van Amsterdam conducted by Ed Spanjaard and Mdi ensemble from Italiy.

Toonzetters is georganized by Buma Cultuur, Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and Music Center the Netherlands and entrance to the concerts is free.
