During this festival five sound installations by international artists and one performance can be visited in Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Central Library Amsterdam (OBA) and Pakhuis de Zwijger.

Dutch TV-presentor Hadassah de Boer opened Festival Klanken aan 't IJ.

Especially for this festival the British sound artist Ray Lee will create an interactive installation of moving sounds. Upon entering the Muziekgebouw, an interplay between movement and sounds will be set in motion above your head.

French artist Arno Fabre will present an orchestra of mechanically steered shoes playing compositions
of waltzing love couples, marching armies and a man walking along a deserted street late at night.

Arno Fabre was inspired by the leaking roof of his parental home. In his Dropper01 installation, eight household items are sprinkled by a computer controlled watering system, resulting in a unique spatial musical composition for water drops in five movements.

In this interactive bar by Danish artist Mogens Jacobsen, you can create your own sound composition by making a selection from the 250 prearranged bottles and placing them on the bar

Audio Bar is a commission of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde, Denmark.

Dutch artist Mendel Hardeman mixes a physical sound installation with a ‘spatial documentary’ in the story room O Mar do Conselheiro (The Sea of Conselheiro). You are introduced to the inhabitants of an arid area in Brazil by way of video images, sound sources and water effects positioned  throughout the room.

During this performance, you will find yourself in a room filled with spinning sounds and lights. Ray Lee creates a surrealistic environment by means of technical installations of rotating sirens and LED lights.
