Festival Mundial: 18 & 19 June 2011, Tilburg

The 24th edition of Festival Mundial – The World on Stage presents international top acts and a mixture of fresh talents. The programme includes international acts such as Moby (US), Paolo Nutini (Scotland), Los de Abajo (Mexico), Bombino (Sahara region, Africa), Shantel & Bucovino Club Orkestar (Germany) and Selah Sue (Belgium) and Dutch acts such as De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig and Boef en de Gelogeerde Aap. www.festivalmundial.nl

Dunya Festival: 29 May 2011, Rotterdam

The Dunya Festival is a major annual world performing arts festival, featuring young talents & big names from every corner of the world. The programme of Dunya - which means trying, tasting, experiencing and enjoying - consists of dozens of performances presented on four music stages and a poetry stage in the Euromast Park. The programme includes Horace Andy (known as the front man of Massive Attack), Dubioza Kolektiv, La Pegatina and Bongomatik. www.dunya.nl

Music Meeting: 11 – 13 June 2011, Nijmegen

Music Meeting is an international music festival that unites music genres from every corner of the globe: ranging from jazz, soul and funk to Klezmer, gypsy and Afro-Latin. Music Meeting revolves around improvisation, adventure and experimentation, featuring concerts by artists from diverse cultural backgrounds who have never collaborated before. This year’s artists include Dutch acts such as Juju Bros (with members from Zuco 103, New Cool Collective and The Ploctones) and The Ex & Getatchew Mekuria and international acts such as Dobet Gnahoré, Gary Lucas, Thione Seck and Biondini-Godard-Niggli. www.musicmeeting.nl

The Hague Jazz Festival: 17 – 19 June 2011, The Hague

Amsterdam Roots Festival: 23-26 June 2011, Amsterdam

The 14th edition of the Amsterdam Roots Festival will take place on five different prominent locations in Amsterdam: the Tropentheater, Sugar Factory, Paradiso, Melkweg and the Oosterpark. The festival’s grand finale is Roots Open Air in Oosterpark, with multiple concerts, performances, presentations and workshops on seven stages. International artists perform alongside local talents and there is a world fair with more than a hundred stalls. www.amsterdamroots.nl
