Information Market
There will be an information-market on Friday December 12th to give Dutch jazz artists the opportunity to promote their music directly and to network with national and international presenters. Afterwards all exhibitors and guests will embark on a canalcruise for drinks, dinner and of course further networking.
Focus
Though the last few editions of the Dutch Jazz Meeting were typified by a substantial number of presenters from afar, the 2008 edition will focus on Europe and specifically northwestern Europe. Our aim is to stimulate bookings for jazz artists from the Netherlands in those countries.
Conservatory
There will be a special program for the international guests on Saturday, December 13th at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. They'll be given an introduction about jazz studies at Dutch conservatories and will also be able to hear some performances of several student ensembles. Walter van der Leur, professor of jazz and improvised music at the University of Amsterdam, will do the honors.
