The VPRO/Boy Edgar Prijs, Holland's most prestigious jazz-award, consists of a sculpture by Dutch artist Jan Wolkers and a sum of € 12.500. It is awarded annually under the auspices of the VPRO and Muziek Centrum Nederland (Music Center the Netherlands).
Award ceremony
On Monday April 26, the VPRO/Boy Edgar Prijs 2010 was presented to guitarist Anton Goudsmit during a special concert at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam. VPRO Radio broadcasted the entire concert (from 20.00 till 24.00 hours) nationally on Radio 6, and internationally by means of a live audio/video stream via vprojazzlive.radio6.nl
