In A Cabin With
In A Cabin With (IACW) is an international recording project that invites various musicians for recording sessions in a unique location anywhere in the world. Usually it is collaborations between local musicians and Dutch musicians. Many of which have never worked together before.
The main goal of IACW is to create an ongoing collaboration with musicians all over the world and establish clusters to learn and play music together. Every two months our project takes place at a beautiful and inspiring spot somewhere in the world to write, produce and record an entire album. If possible we will present the written and recorded music in one or more live performances at suitable venues after the recordings have ended.

After mixing these recordings in the studio in The Netherlands, the albums are fully available (worldwide) as a FREE download on our website www.inacabinwith.com and several other internet platforms and websites.
The actual CD’s will be released and distributed a week later by one of Netherlands biggest distribution companies V2. If the local musicians are signed by a label we try to arrange the actual album to be released in the particular country as well.
Results
Some of the productions are nominated for a few music prizes in The Netherlands, present their album at showcase festivals like Noorderslag in The netherlands, Ollin Kan in Mexico, SXSW in Austin Texas and/or are signed by several other international labels and bookers (Japan, Germany, France and Italy for instance).
Besides that 60% of the In A Cabin With collaborations resulted in an actual band who now tour across the world and work on new records. The Black Atlantic (touring through Europe and the USA), Chop Wood (touring through Canada, China and The Benelux) and Stan Diego (touring through Mexico, China, Europe and Canada) are some of these examples.

In 2010 there was an extra CD, to celebrate the 10th edition of the Unsigned project. Various bands and musicians who recorderd with the Unsigned project, left for Cassablanca to work together in a studio in an old slaughter-house (abattoir).
